FEB 25 – Art inspired by Andy Warhol
Hey everyone!
So, my first week, I wrote scenes and a poem. My second week, I composed some music. This week, I think I’m going to try my hand at visual art!
Today’s project is brought to you by limited time and art supplies; we’re not visual artists in my house–anyone who knows me and/or my brother knows we’re much more performance oriented (which might be an understatement).
I raided my house for things to paint/draw/paper mache with and came up only with tracing paper and colored pencils. I have some cool idea for the rest of the week’s projects, but I will require some construction paper/paint and potentially glitter. GLITTER 😀
I love Marilyn Monroe, and have in my room this lovely photograph of her:
She is greeting fans at Yankee Stadium.
Now, you’ll all remember Andy Warhol immortalized Miss Monroe in this painting:

So in sort of the same vein, I created this picture. My use of color is deliberate, and I liked choosing where and when to use color, and what to include from the original photograph.
(excuse my terrible iphone photos!)
Anyway. Thanks for tuning in! I’ll back Wed with another piece of visual art! 😀
Caroline xx
